Pitjantjatjara is spoken by the Pitjantjatjara people of Central Australia.
Uluru (Ayers Rock) is sacred to the Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara, the Aboriginal people of the area.
Pitjantjatjara has four different classes of verbs, which take slightly different endings (the classes are named according to their imperative suffixes):
- ∅-class verbs,
- la-class verbs,
- wa-class verbs, and
- ra-class verbs.
